Tulsi Kadha For Cold and Cough

  • Water 2 cups
  • 5- 6 leaves of basil leaves (tulsi) and Optional- lemongrass
  • 1 inch stick cinnamon
  • 1-inch piece of ginger (grated)
  • 4 cloves
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ tsp Black pepper to add flavour

How To Prepare Kadha At Home

  • First of all, wash the basil leaves and lemongrass thoroughly.
  • Put 2 cups of water in a saucepan and keep it boiling on medium flame.
  • When water starts boiling, add basil leaves, cloves, crushed cinnamon, grated ginger and mix well and boil on a medium flame till the kadha is reduced to half.
  • Strain it in a cup and add one teaspoon honey, black pepper at the same time and mix well
  • Serve immediately to drink it hot.

  • Add 1/2 tsp turmeric and 1 tsp jiggery and  keep stirring the kadha with a spoon till jaggery dissolves.
  • Boil for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the flavours are well absorbed.
  • Now strain and  squeezed 1 teaspoon lemon juice and mix well
  • The ginger turmeric kadha is finally ready to drink.
