NEET 2022 Notification, Online Application, Exam Fees, Syllabus, Exam Date at neet.nta.nic.in: National Eligibility Cum Entrance Exam 2022 will be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) for admission to MBBS/BDS Courses in Medical/Dental Colleges in India. The official notification for NEET 2022 is going to be released in November 2021 and it will be available on the official website https://neet.nta.nic.in/.

Last year due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdown the exam was delayed and later conducted on 12 Sept 2021 and this year, the NEET exam is expected to be conducted on 2nd May 2022.

NEET 2022 Syllabus

It is aligned with the syllabus of classes 11th and 12th of the aspiring aspirants. It includes Physics, Chemistry and biology subjects of class 11th and 12th.

NCERT books are the best source of preparation for this entrance exam, although you can refer to some other books which are easily available in the market. If you wish to join any coaching institute, you must be very careful while choosing the perfect institute. Usually, NEET aspirants get focused from class 12th only but even if you have not planned anything; you still have time to begin. As the notification bell has ringed, start afresh.

NEET Exam Pattern

The exam will consist of one paper containing 180 objective-type questions from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology). There were 45 questions from Physics and Chemistry each and 90 Questions from Biology Botany & Zoology).

The duration of the paper would be 3 hours. You will be awarded 4 marks for each correct answer and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for each incorrect answer.

NEET Eligibility Criteria

Only Indian Nationals, Non-Resident Indians (NRI’s), Overseas Citizen of India (OCI’s), Persons of Indian Origin (PIO’s) & Foreign Nationals are eligible for appearing in the exam.

A candidate must have an Aadhaar card number to apply for this exam.

For admission in the M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. Course, a candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before December 31st, 2018. The upper age limit for candidates seeking admission in MBBS/BDS seats is 25 years. However, there is a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC category. The maximum number of attempts which a candidate can avail at NEET (UG) is limited only to 3 years.

Any candidate, who wants to appear for the entrance exam, must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Bio-technology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/ Biotechnology in the qualifying examination. However, a relaxation of 10% has been given to the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribes or Other Backward Classes and they require 40% marks. Further, for persons with disability of lower limbs, a minimum of 45% marks for General-PH and 40% marks for SC/ST is required.

The fees for the general and OBC candidates are INR 1400 while for SC/ST/PH, it is INR 750.

Minimum Qualifying Scores for Different Categories in NEET 2022

Candidates belonging to the general category needed to secure 131 marks to qualify for the exam in 2017 whereas the qualifying marks for OBC, ST, and SC candidates were 107 marks.

Looking at the previous year’s cutoffs, you can know the score required by you to qualify for the exam in your category as these to give an idea of the marks required to qualify for the exam. The cutoffs are mostly in the same range every year, so the cutoffs will neither shoot up very high nor will go very down from the previous year’s cutoffs.
