India has entered the 4th phase of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic. The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) directed Centre and State governments to continue the lockdown measures up to May 31 to control the COVID-19 spread in the country. But from the many sources, it has been said that ongoing lockdown may be extended till 30th June 2020 in the partition like lockdown 5 and lockdown 6.

The lockdown was first imposed in India by PM Modi on March 24 and has seen four extensions till now. Lockdown 4.0 is now in effect from Monday 18th May and will continue till 31st May. But states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamilnadu & Delhi may have to face complete lockdown till 30th June due to the maximum number of corona cases.

India has recorded one day highest number of cases on 17th May with 4978 COVID-19 positive cases. On 17th May, Maharashtra’s total cases increase by 2,347 to 33,053 and now India surpassed China’s total cases of 82,933 as of May 16.

Till now, things didn’t seem good in India as corona cases are still on the rise, and total cases tally is about to reach 1 lakh mark. Many states like Punjab, Bihar, Telangana have already imposed travel ban till 30th June 2020 and it’s likely that the whole country will be in the complete lockdown till 30 June to control COVID-19 spread and to make the corona new cases curve flat.
