A political storm raged Wednesday after the Income Tax officials carried out raids 60 places, including the residential premises of Cong K’taka Power Minister Mr. Shivakumar and his brother in Delhi and Bengaluru. The Income Tax Department recovered Rs. 5 crore in cash from the Shivakumar’s residence in Delhi and 2.5 crores in cash from Bengaluru.
About 39 property belonging to Shivkumar and his family were being hunted by the team of about 120 IT officials along with CPRF personnel across the country, the official said. Congress lawmaker Ravi’s house in Bengaluru’s southeast suburban area was also investigated.
The power minister was at the Eagleton Golf Resort since last night and was caught carrying up documents, said Income Tax authorities, told Income Tax officials.

The raid team searches extensively to unlikely places like a college teacher’s locker, which was in the name of Mr. Shivakumar’s relative. A raid team went with CRPF staff to the resort for the minister, who is blamed of channeling his assets after demonetization into real estate and jewelry.
