Ganesh Chaturthi 2022 Puja Date, Rituals, Significance and History: Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most important Hindu festivals also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi or Vinayaka Chaviti in India. The festival celebrates Lord Ganesh’s arrival from Kailash Parvat to Earth with his mother Goddess Parvati/Gauri.

Although the origins of Ganesh Chaturthi are unknown, the festival has been openly held in Pune since the period of the Maratha Empire’s founder king Shivaji from 1630 to 1680. During the month of Bhadrapad in the 18th century, the Peshwa, who were Ganesh enthusiasts, began a public Ganesh festival in Pune, their capital city. The Ganesh festival was a private family celebration in Maharashtra after the British Raj took over, but Lokmanya Tilak, an Indian freedom fighter and social reformer brought it back to life.

Ganesh Chaturthi 2022 Puja Date and Time
According to the Hindu calendar, Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Bhadrapada, Ganesha, who is supposed to be the god of knowledge, intelligence, prosperity, and good fortune, is the son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Ganesh Chaturthi will be observed this year on august 31, 2022, while Ganesh Visarjan will take place on September 9, 2022.
Local community groups generally celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi at home and in public in the western states of Maharashtra and Goa, the southern states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu, the eastern states of West Bengal and Odisha, and the north-eastern provinces of Assam in India.
Ganesh Chaturthi Puja Details- Worshipping or Placing Ganesh Ji
On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, there are certain guidelines for placing the Lord Ganesha idol. Wear clean clothes after taking a morning shower to the best place Lord Ganesha. Visarjan/Nimajjanam
The festival comes to an end on the tenth day after it began. The last day of the 10-day celebration is also known as Anant Chaturdashi in popular culture, where the idol is immersed in a nearby body of water, such as a river or sea, in a ceremony known as visarjan.
Ten days of festivals and worship rites are celebrated during the festival, and special foods are prepared as offerings to the gods. As prasad, dishes like modak and motichoor laddus are prepared and served.
